Daughter of United States Olympic Sprinter Tyson Gay

Trinity Gay, the daughter of U.S. Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay, has been fatally shot in Kentucky, according to multiple news reports.
The Fayette County coroners office said in a statement that Trinity Gay died Oct. 16, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was 15.
The sprinters agent, Mark Wetmore, confirmed her death in a text message to The Associated Press.
Lexington police said in a statement that officers went to the parking lot of a restaurant after witnesses reported that gunfire was exchanged between two vehicles. Officers located one of the vehicles and stopped two people for questioning. Police said Trinity Gay was not a passenger in either car.
She was herself a rising star on the track team at Lafayette High School. She finished fourth in last years 100 meters in the state championships.
She was so innocent; she was so innocent, her mother, Shoshana Boyd, told the Daily News. I just want people to stop shooting and realize who theyre hurting. Its just random. They dont understand; they dont understand who theyre hurting.
She said her daughter wanted to become a surgeon and also hoped to match the Olympic glory of her famous father.
Tyson Gay has competed as a sprinter for the United States in the past three Summer Olympic Games. He was a member of a team that won the silver medal in the 4x100~meter relay at the 2012 London Games. That medal was later stripped after Gay tested positive for steroids in 2013. He still holds the U.S. record for the 100~meter dash with a time of 9.69 seconds.
