KELLOGG JEFFREY LAWRENCE KELLOGG Born March 24, 1964, died suddenly from unexplained causes on March 25, 2009 in Washington, DC. A native of Bethesda, MD and a graduate of Walter Johnson High School ........Class of 1982........, Jeff graduated from both Oberlin College of Arts & Sciences and Oberlin Conservatory of Music and later earned an MFA from George Mason University and a Masters degree from University of Maryland. Jeff was an accomplished violin player with awards received from the National and Baltimore Symphony Young Soloist Competition; Peabody Music Conservatory; Oberlin Chamber Music Competition; and National Music Teachers Association. Professionally, Jeff was a violin teacher with students throughout the area. He is survived by his mother, Dr. Patricia Kellogg; siblings Clifton and Tamara Kellogg; nieces Margaret and Lucy Kellogg; aunt Shirley Kellogg; uncles Robert and Ronald Deal, and numerous cousins and relatives. The memorial service will be held at Cedar Lane Unitarian Church, 9601 Cedar Lane, Bethesda, MD on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in his memory to the DC Youth Orchestra, 6315 5th Street NW, Washington, DC 20011. The family also welcomes letters, emails, or photos with memories of his life addressed to his mother and sent to 2700 Virginia Ave NW, Apt 1002, WDC 20037 or email to: kelloggpat@gmail.com
