Edna Mae Freeman, 76, of Chapmanville, departed this life Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Born November 22, 1939, at Logan, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Monety Bernard and Brooke Martin Hunter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ermil A. Freeman; three brothers: Bernard Hunter, Bermie Hunter, and Curtis Hunter; and six sisters: Pearl Sutphin, Goldie Morrow, Vernie Perry, June Stowers, Merle Hunter, and Wilma Stover. Edna enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters: Dianna (Steve) Perry, Peggy Hensley, and Greta Freeman; one son, Ermil A. Freeman Jr.; one sister, Roberta (Jerry) Temple; two brothers: Roger Hunter and Dallas (Melvia) Hunter; five grandchildren: Stephen Perry, Chad Perry, Ashley Adkins, Jonathon Hensley, and Bayleigh Salisbury; and seven great-grandchildren: Katilyn Perry, Sydney Perry, Ashton Adkins, Zoe Perry, Austin Adkins, Mia Adkins, and Adele Perry.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Church of God in the Name of Jesus Christ with Johnny Meade officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the church.

Pallbearers will be Chad Perry, David Adkins, Jason Workman, William Salisbury, Jonathon Hensley, and Ermil Freeman Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Perry and Steven Perry II.

Freeman Funeral Home at Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
