Jim was born in Cincinnati Ohio to the late Joseph and Gertrude Hengehold on November 10, 1928. He thoroughly enjoyed his work as a bottle shipper at Hudepohl Brewery for 30+ years and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Jim was married to June Hengehold (nee Mergenthal) on May 3, 1952; they were happily married 39 years. He unwaveringly and lovingly cared for June during the last 4 years of her life.

In addition to his love for his family and friends, he enjoyed his vibrant flower gardens and watching hummingbirds that would frequent his feeders. He travelled to many places including a trip to Jerusalem in 2000. He was also actively involved with his parish, Corpus Christi.

Jim is survived by his beloved companion of 24 years, Rita Clark; his children, James Hengehold Jr., Karen (Harold) Long, and Lisa (Paul) Perry; his grandchildren, Jonathan Long, Elizabeth (Chad) Mowery and Joshua Hengehold; his great-grandchildren, Victoria Long, Celia and Alexander Mowery and Maryjayne Hengehold; sister-in-law Millie Mergenthal, along with many nieces and nephews. He leaves many loving memories to be cherished by friends and family alike.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife, June; sister Laverne Jansen (nee Hengehold); and his in-laws.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Cincinnati SPCA 3949 Colerain Ave, Cincinnati, OH.
